EXCERWISE app was created as my final project in a UX UI course. We were asked to find a problem (could be the slightest one) and design a digital product that gives a solution for it.

So I decided to design an app that will become a fitness and social community, a place where they can find fitness buddy, sign up fitness program and check your fitness plan.

LOW FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

I did a group brainstorming. Within the different topics, interaction’s number count is 21% of all and mechanism takes 18%. Thus, in the market research, we mainly focused on these two topics.

BRAINSTORM

INTERACTION

  • 40%+ Chinese social networks users belong to the age group of 25-35.

  • 52.8% of them are male.

  • 47.2% of them are female.

  • Social network users want the features to be more focused on productivity and they also want to have more fun using the app.

RESEARCH

Mechanism

  • Over 77% of my research sample (who tried to lose weight) think no visible effects and too slow is the major reason they want to quit.

  • Boring and lazy are also reasons.

  • 57% of my research sample want to have progress data visualization.

  • Online partner and mutual schedule are also the features they want to have.

During the research, most people work out with the intention of losing weight. Therefore, we focus on the people we specifically want to lose weight and studied their concerns and pain points.

THE PEOPLE

  • Over 60% feel they are either overweight or skinny.

  • 35.8% of people who tried losing weight are not satisfied.

  • 90%+ China self perceived overweight residents are willing to pay.

  • Most people have to paid over 2.5k+ rmb to lose weight.

THE USERS

According to the user researches, we summarized our conclusion into 2 typical personas.
